With the much-shared friendship and history between the entire agency force, Thomson Smith & Leach Insurance Group steps into a new chapter excited, stronger, and ready to operate as the regional agency we are today.
The overall expansion of the company made it the perfect opportunity to change our trade name to TSL Insurance Group, refresh our brand, and reveal a new company logo to better represent who we are today.
TSL Insurance Group has come a long way from our humble beginnings dating back to the 1980s. Through mergers and additions between 1987 through 2004, Thomson Smith and Leach Insurance Group emerged.
Our founder, Craig Thomson, met Randy Lanoix while they were students at LSU. The friendship continued when they both decided on a career in the insurance industry. In 2005, we expanded to Abbeville and continued growing our client base. That same year, Randy acquired Bourg-Carmouche & Associates Lutcher Branch and renamed it Lanoix Insurance Agency. Within 2 years, both of his sons, Bryan and David, joined the agency.
Fast forward to this year, while the planning for the merger between TSL and Lanoix was going on, Insurance Associates of Baton Rouge came to us with the opportunity to acquire their book of business and establish a centrally located Baton Rouge office. This led Thomson Smith & Leach Insurance Group, Lanoix Insurance, and Insurance Associates of Baton Rouge to all join forces under the new name of TSL Insurance Group in January 2022.
As a newly rebranded company, we promise we will continue to be committed to providing the best possible products and services to our clients in Louisiana. Plus, the new changes we have made will also help serve the insurance needs of our communities even better. The combined company now has even more resources and industry knowledge as a single united brand that is recognized and respected by the insurance industry and clients.
